My wife says Sudoku, etc., is supposed to keep your mind sharp. Well, how about technical text book problems? Keep the mind sharp and understand the physical world a bit better—it’s a win-win!

Let’s start with Engineering Electromagnetics by William H. Hayt, Jr., 5th Ed

Chapter 1: Vector Analysis

I used to be pretty good at working with vectors and the associated math but just like everything you forget the details if you don’t keep with it. There are 9 sections in this chapter and at end of some of these sections there are Drill problems. I read each section and did the drill problems as I went along. Below are the detailed solutions to each of them. I made a number of algebra mistakes along the way but those were just careless errors. I explicitly wrote out more detail than I normally would so finding the mistakes were pretty easy. This is really just to get back into it and try to learn this and other subjects deeper all while exercising the mind, it surely can’t hurt.
